The National Horticulture Mission (NHM) cold storage subsidy supports the construction, expansion, and modernization of cold stores for horticulture produce. It focuses on strengthening post‑harvest infrastructure to cut wastage.
Objectives
The scheme promotes energy‑efficient technologies such as Controlled Atmosphere (CA) systems and modern insulation to enhance shelf life and quality.
Pattern of Assistance
- Subsidy Rate: 35% (General) to 50% (Special areas) of capital cost.
- Capacity: Typically up to about 5,000 MT per project.
- Technology Grants: Specific support for CA generators (up to ₹1.25 cr), specialized doors, and PLC support.
Eligible Projects
New, expanded, or modernized multi‑chamber cold stores using NHM‑compliant technologies. Projects must generally start soon after sanction and finish within a defined period.
Role of Wealth Design LLP
Wealth Design LLP assists promoters in designing NHM‑compliant projects, selecting technologies, preparing DPRs, and ensuring documentation compliance to secure the subsidy.
