AMI Warehousing Subsidy Scheme - NABARD

The AMI Warehousing Subsidy Scheme is part of the Integrated Scheme for Agricultural Marketing (ISAM). Revised in 2018, it aims to strengthen post‑harvest and marketing infrastructure and link farmers more directly with markets to raise their incomes.

Objective

The scheme aims to develop modern marketing and storage infrastructure, promote innovative post‑harvest technologies, and support alternative marketing channels. Key goals include:

  • Enabling farm‑level processing and creating scientific storage to cut losses.
  • Upgrading rural haats into Gramin Agricultural Markets (GrAMs) for better farmer–consumer linkages.

Quantum of Assistance

  • General Areas: Capital subsidy generally at 25% of the project cost.
  • Special Regions: Higher subsidy of 33.33% for North‑Eastern states, hilly, and tribal areas.
  • Caps: In special areas, the subsidy ceiling is around ₹133.20 lakh; in other areas, lower caps apply depending on project type and beneficiary.

Eligible Projects and Activities

  • Storage Infrastructure: Godowns, silos, and facilities to expand capacity and reduce post‑harvest losses.
  • Marketing Infrastructure: Wholesale markets, rural haats, and direct sale platforms.
  • Value‑Addition Infrastructure: Grading, sorting, and packing units.

Implementation & Eligibility

  • Period: The revised guidelines apply from 22 October 2018 to 31 March 2026.
  • Beneficiaries: Individual farmers, FPOs, private companies, cooperatives, and government agencies.

Application & Disbursement

Applications are routed through designated banks/financial institutions to NABARD based on detailed DPRs. Subsidy release follows appraisal, inspections, and post‑implementation checks. A structured grievance mechanism handles approval issues.

Role of Wealth Design LLP
